Rinzai Maui Obon Festival

The 2017 Rinzai Maui Obon Festival is being held August 19th
the Service begins at 6pm and the Dance Starts at 7pm

This year we will have almost thirty students dancers from Yaeyama Norin High School of Ishigaki Island in southern Okinawa. We are so sure that whoever comes to our Obon on August 20th will have a very enjoyable night with their dance and our music.

Welcome to our Obon

Our annual Obon Festival will soon be here, and on behalf of the Rinzai Zen Mission, I would like to invite you to attend. It will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 with services to begin at 6:00 p.m., and Obon dancing and entertainment at 7:00 p.m.

Please come and share in our heritage at the only Okinawan Obon festival here on Maui. We look forward to seeing all of you!

Bazaar: Donations of baked goods will be greatly appreciated. Please label each item with a list of ingredients in order of quantity. If you don’t have labels, please give Janet the whole recipe so that labels can be made for you.

Homegrown fruits and vegetables will also be accepted.

Please bring Bazaar items on Saturday morning, so they can be properly arranged and displayed.

Thank you for your generosity.

Parking: Handicapped parking with placard will be the same, in temple grounds. All others will be asked to park in the soccer field. (Entrance is on the right before entrance to the temple.) Maui Zendo will be in charge of parking so please follow their instructions.
