Happy New Year!
Rev. Yamaguchi’s One-Year Service
Despite stormy conditions, we had a good recep/on for Reverend Ryozo Yamaguchi's one year memorial service. We are grateful for Reverend Seiya Chisaka of Toenji Temple and Reverends Fujita and Umezawa of Zuiganji Temple for presiding over the service. Thank you for your attendance and support.
Rev. Chisaka brought a special gift for us, a scroll of Rev. Yamaguchi with a poem written by his abbot
The storm eventually worsened a day later knocking down two ironwood trees in the County's Baldwin Park area. One of the trees fell onto our Temple's property, damaging the power lines and breaking a power pole. A portion of the columbarium roof overlooking Reverend Seido Chisaka's memorial was also damaged. After three to four days, power and internet service were restored. Since the County's tree caused the problem, we are in the process of assessing their responsibility for the damages incurred.
We will be holding our Annual Meeting for our congregation at our Temple on Saturday, January 28th. The meeting will begin at 11 a.m. with a financial report and Temple updates. A catered luncheon will follow along with Bingo.
Odds ’n’ Ends
The paperwork process continues on a working visa for Reverend Kodai Haga as our new minister.
We continue to designate the second Sunday of every month as Temple cleaning day. Thank you to those who have loyally continued to join us each month.
