Aloha everyone

I hope all of you are doing well as 2019 comes to an end. This year, other than some flooding issues in March, we haven’t had any other major weather challenges. We are continuing discussions with the County of Maui regarding the Baldwin Beach Park expansion which we hope will result in some improvements for our Temple site. We completed two major projects this year – replaced all the rain gutters and also had the railings, fascia, etc. repainted. Your support with defraying some of these maintenance costs and help during our Obon is greatly appreciated.

Although you may not have seen them often nor heard of their yearly contribution to our Temple, these members also have generously contributed their time and talent throughout the years. Masako Cordray and her husband have graciously adorned our Temple with beautiful floral arrangements. Brian Lieberman, our webmaster, has created and maintained a web page for the Temple. Ken Findeisen has kept our grounds fertilized and weeded. Judy Lindstrom has been typing our quarterly newsletters. Also our deepest gratitude to Reverend Seiya Chisaka and everyone at the Myoshinji Temple of Japan. It is due to their generosity that we are able to continue. Thank you Reverend Yamaguchi for your guidance and “standing guard” at our Temple all these years. We are deeply grateful for the support and contributions from all our members. It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of such a wonderful organization.

Wishing all of you a very happy and healthy New Year!

In Gassho,
Alan Nago, President
