Annual Meeting Cancellation
Apologies for the late cancellation of our Annual meeting on January the 28th due to inclement weather. As it turned out Baldwin Beach Park was closed due to flooding anyway which prevented access to our Temple.

Hanamatsuri Service

Sorry to share that Reverend Chisaka has suffered a broken femur while recovering from a recent hip replacement. He will not be able to be here for Hanamatsuri. In his place we will welcome Reverend Chujo from Zuiganji Temple. Hanamatsuri will be held at our Temple on

Sunday, April 2
11:00 a.m. Catered Luncheon
12:30 p.m. Hanamatsuri Service
It will also be a Zoom event, ID # 226 981 3784
and passcode # 096624.

We will continue to pray and hope for a quick recovery for Reverend Chisaka.

Plant and Rummage SaleWe are preparing for our next Plant and Rummage Sale. It will be held at our Temple on

Saturday March 11
8 a.m. - 12 noon.

We are very fortunate and grateful to the Alpha Delta Kappa Gamma Charter group for their generosity of donated items from their recent rummage sale. This is a professional women’s group of educators whose mission in part is to raise funds for high school seniors from Maui. Our deepest appreciation to all in this organization.

With their generosity we will not be requesting any more rummage items, although we will accept healthy plants.

We could use help with setting up, sorting, pricing, etc. during the week of March 6th - 10th and the day of the event, the 11th. Please feel free to contact me at (808) 281-7181 for more information .

We continue to work on the paperwork to get our next minister here to Maui. Thank you for sending in your membership dues and donations. It’s very much appreciated as it helps with the maintenance of our Temple and the salary of our next minister.

In Gassho,
Alan Nago,
President Board of Directors
Rinzai Zen Mission.
